I know I should have written my today’s post earlier, however, it’s been a very busy day. Why with meeting friends and cooking, reading and a bit of work, wasting time dreaming my afternoon along, it is no wonder I am so late in everything. Nevertheless, it is good to see friends after a long time and share thoughts together, especially when the said friends are on the same wavelength as you are. So no waste of time there! I remember I had a friend in the past, a dear one, mind you, but as delighted as I was to see her, I was more delighted to get back home. She could make me yawn, in spite of all good feelings that were between us. Nothing in common, that’s the problem. I had an interesting experience today that taught me a lot. It seems it is not enough that life makes you wary of people but the smallest thing may have an unexpected result. I don’t often navigate on Facebook – not enough time, you see, and when I do, I rarely comment on everything. I only share what I like or what I think it would be important to let other people know as well. Today, I made the mistake to click on “like” on some posts of a guy. Imagine, he sent me a personal message saying that he noticed I liked him. Not his posts, but him! How in God’s name could he jump to such a conclusion, it is beyond me! I had to gently let him down and explain that what he saw, maybe, was an interest in a specific post not in the person who shared it. Gently or not, I ended up in a long conversation that reached no conclusion in the end. I blame my parents’ education for that. They taught me to be polite, too polite, and to take people’s feelings into consideration always. Maybe just a smidge of rudeness sometimes it is welcome. Anyway, let’s go on. I was wondering on something else. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I like to read – one of my favorite pastimes. Sometimes I read thrillers, other times classics, but I also read romance when the mood strikes, as it did today. Now, I like certain authors, as anybody does. I like the style and the intrigue, the emotion they can convey. I actually envy a few of them for the power of their words and I can only hope that one day I’d reach the same level. What I don’t understand though, it’s how it is possible that all male characters are tall like trees, with broad shoulders and intimidating, their voice making women fall to their knees and if the women try to kick any part of the said character’s anatomy, they have the feeling they broke their toes. Sometimes these legendary men are very tall and rangy with so much empathy that they can read any thought in a woman’s head. How many men are like this? I, one, haven’t seen many, and this is not a derogatory remark. Variety is good. Had we had only indigo copies, we’d get sick of them soon enough. Now the heroines: they are always wand-slim, with a beauty that defies perfection, with sweet disposition and loving, but they are also tough, innocent and vixen the same time. Come on! Look in the streets. How many women look like that? I wonder how many women reading these novels (very good, don’t misunderstand me), think they’re lacking! I personally wouldn’t have a chance to be a character based on my looks, to be sure! And so what? Fiction is fiction and life is most of the time more interesting, in my opinion. Tomorrow’s Monday and we start work. Can you hear my heart weeping? Not that I don’t like my work, but come on, it is Monday, and how many of you hate Mondays? I met only one person who loved Mondays. It must be one of every kind, I think. See you tomorrow! Maybe my posts would become less boring having the chance to get involved in more and varied activities. I can’t wait to talk to you again!
