Hello, everyone! I hope you’ve had a good day! I haven’t and I wasn’t the only one. I worked from home today and it was a real challenge. It wasn’t easy to focus on my work with all the sirens going around for a few hours. There were some fire trucks but also ambulances and I haven’t even managed to find out what the ruckus was about. There were clusters of neighbors talking about the events – I could see them from the balcony, but when I finally could go down there was no one in sight. And that came after a night with very little sleep, which means I was already in a bit of a fog. I had just fallen asleep - I remember clearly I was dreaming already, when my daughter came at my door shouting that someone was knocking on the door downstairs. I jumped out of bed, tried to put something on and went downstairs to see who could be at the door at around three in the morning. Of course, there wasn’t anyone. Had I had all my neurons working, I would have realized that Rex hadn’t barked at all and he barks even if only the wind is a little stronger. Someone at the door should have sent him in a real frenzy. I told my daughter that she’d probably dreamt that someone was knocking on the door and went back to sleep but couldn’t fall asleep for a while. I’ve noticed something strange lately. In the second part of the night, we could hear an eerie music faintly playing all over the house. I imagine it comes from one of the neighbors, but none of them seem the type to listen to such music. Anyway, it’s better to let the dogs sleep, as they say, and not think about. It was a miserable task to make coffee in the morning. I kept squinting to everything and I couldn’t see anything properly. It was like something was obstructing my sight. I think that’s the explanation for putting sugar in the sink instead in my cup and pouring milk exactly next to the cup, which meant more work for me. I had to go to the doctor’s office today as I had an appointment and of course, the bus didn’t disappoint: it didn’t come. When I saw I was about to be very late, I decided to take a cab. I can’t say I had too much luck today. I picked the wrong cab driver. He chose the fastest way and the result was that I got to the clinic later than if I had waited for the bus to come. It was a black day for TTC as well, and not only in that concerning buses. Although lately it’s been quite warm – which won’t last, as I’ve heard, they had signal problems on line two for a couple of hours. When they finally announced the problem was resolved, it was a common sigh of relief all over the subway station. It didn’t last though. The subway worked for twenty minutes only and afterwards the signal problem returned. I can’t say how long the second signal failure lasted but I can say it was not solved in half an hour. It took my bus half an hour to come and leave the station and the problems still existed. It seems the evening is not peaceful either. The wind is very high and Rex keeps barking or better said howling and I have a terrible migraine building up. I hope February gets better. Up to now, it hasn’t been too much of a help and not only for me. Let’s see what tomorrow brings! Definitely, it must be better than the last few days. Fingers crossed! See you tomorrow!
