***** Review ***I was assigned this title in a book group and was asked to give an honest review. I have to admit that this is the first book I have ever read that features vampires. When I started the book, I expected to be bored to tears, which didn’t happen. The action is vivid, quite interesting and at a good pace. I was only disappointed that it was too short. The characters are well defined, especially the damsel in distress, Val, who seems to be a well-adjusted, independent girl, who knows when to retaliate and when to keep her mouth shut. The male character is mysterious and his mystery remains until the last line. I must say that I can’t wait to read volume 2. If this novella held my interest, which was quite out of ordinary, I am pretty sure would hold the interest of anyone who enjoys this type of novellas. I expected to rate it around two stars but I feel compelled to give it five. I really enjoyed reading it. The style is fluent, I had only one moment of confusion during the scene in the bar, but otherwise, per total a good read.
