A very good book for children!
***I was assigned this title in a book group and was asked to give an honest review.
I read Mary T. Kincaid’s book “Mortimer” and even though I am an adult, I enjoyed this story.
I consider it is a good book for the little ones. The main character is a curious and brave little mole that wants to learn about the world around. Mortimer is dissatisfied with his lot in life as a mole and wants to learn and try new things and, more important, finds the courage to do that.
I consider that through this character, which is very likable, children could learn that there are no limits but the ones we set for ourselves and that we should strive to conquer the unknown because the progress lies there.
I do recommend this book: easy reading but packed with meaning and a good teaching resource.
